McCoy Tyner

Growing up in the 60s and 70s was an amazing era for music. McCoy Tyner has been one of those prolific jazz pianists of our time a true living legend. Listening to his music throughout the years has been memorable. This 74 years young from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania first gained notoriety in 1960 playing with Benny Golson’s band, Golson's and Art Farmer's legendary Jazztet. He also played with other famous musicians like John Coltrane, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter, Hank Mobley and Stanley Turrentine. If you love piano players McCoy Tyner is one of those musicians that blazes on the keys, he is truly amazing. Some of my favorite songs are “Atlantis”, “Fly With the Wind”, “Passion Dance”, “My Favorite Things” and “Giant Steps”. Tune into Streetwise Radio’s Jazz CafĂ©` and listen to tunes from McCoy Tyner, you will be amazed. You can also tune into Streetwise Radio on iTunes, Pandora, MyGen365, Athena365, Live365 and Gilroy Radio.
